“BlueDream”
This is a quick behind the scenes look at studio artist Joel Blum creating a cairn for the 2010 WoodBridge show in Lodi

After throwing and flatting the form, he makes use of cut paper stencils to create the surface design…

The design then is filled in using a sponge to appliy a cobalt oxide slip…

The paper stencils are then peeled away leaving a positive/negative design on the surface. This is then multifired to create a finished surface before being based.
